Thiruparankundram Murugan
Thiruparankundram Murugan is a Hindu temple dedicated to Murugan (Karttikeya), located in Thiruparankundram, Madurai district, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the Arupadai Veedu — the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan across Tamil Nadu.
The first of Murugan's six abodes, carved into the living rock of a hill just outside Madurai, marks where the god wed Deivanai after vanquishing the demon Surapadman. Its rock-cut sanctum dates to the Pandya era.
