Thiruthani Murugan
Thiruthani Murugan is a Hindu temple dedicated to Murugan (Karttikeya), located in Thiruthani, Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the Arupadai Veedu — the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan across Tamil Nadu.
Thiruthani, where Murugan came to be soothed after battle, is the closest of the six abodes to Chennai and a favourite New Year pilgrimage — vast queues climb its 365 steps every January 1st.

Visiting
Most temples in Tamil Nadu open early morning and again in the evening, closing through the midday hours — plan darshan before noon or after 4pm and confirm timings locally, since festival days change everything.
