Thiruchendur Murugan
Thiruchendur Murugan is a Hindu temple dedicated to Murugan (Karttikeya), located in Thiruchendur, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the Arupadai Veedu — the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan across Tamil Nadu.
Uniquely among the six abodes, Thiruchendur stands on the seashore — the gopuram rises straight from the beach where Murugan is said to have defeated Surapadman. Sunrise darshan with the waves breaking beside the temple is unforgettable.
