Apatsahayesvarar Temple
Apatsahayesvarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Alangudi, Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams — the Shiva temples glorified in the Tevaram hymns of the Nayanmar saints. On the Navagraha circuit it is the shrine of Guru (Jupiter), one of the classic nine-planet pilgrimage circuit in the Kaveri delta around Kumbakonam.
Alangudi, the Guru (Jupiter) shrine of the Navagraha circuit, honours Shiva as the remover of obstacles who drank the ocean's poison to save the worlds. Thursdays here draw huge crowds seeking wisdom and good fortune.
