Ramanathaswamy Temple
Ramanathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams — the Shiva temples glorified in the Tevaram hymns of the Nayanmar saints.
At the far tip of the Rameswaram island, this temple marks where Rama is said to have worshipped Shiva after the war in Lanka, making it sacred to Shaivites and Vaishnavites alike. Its third corridor is the longest temple corridor in India, and its 22 sacred wells are part of the pilgrimage ritual.
