Free vs featured listings

We keep this page useful for visitors first. Two kinds of listing:

Every submission is read by a person. We reply by email, usually within a few days, and we say no to anything that is not a real event in or around Chennai. Featured listings are always labelled as paid, and paying never changes what we write elsewhere on the site. Businesses looking for longer-term visibility should see the advertising and sponsorship page, which also covers festival-guide sponsorship and “Featured near this temple” placements.

Festival season at a glance

The biggest fixed dates in the Chennai year have their own guides, with this year’s dates, where to go and what to eat: Deepavali, Skanda Shashti, Karthigai Deepam, the Margazhi music season, Vaikunta Ekadashi, Arudra Darshan, Pongal, Thai Poosam, Navaratri and Golu and Ayudha Puja. The full multi-year list is on the festival calendar.
